My Mother, Her Mother, Me

My Mother, Her Mother, Me
by Sammie Sheedy

This video is the documentation of a performance piece I did for my final in my Time Studio class at VCU. The piece is meant to depict my emotions as well as the emotions of certain female family members towards maternity, childbirth, and the act of sewing. It is a personal piece, and while I hope that others can find some familiarity in it’s contents, it is not meant to generalize or represent all forms of motherhood, or women in general.
